  • The Milford Moose Lodge will host a special cookout and family fun day to benefit the Delmarva Region of Guiding Eyes for the Blind, a non-profit organization that breeds, trains and provides guide dogs to blind individuals.
This benefit is scheduled for noon, Saturday, Sept. 28, and is being held to help the regional volunteers by providing financial assistance for dog food, flea and tick medications, dog kennels and other expenses attributed to raising these future guide dogs.
The organization raises and trains future guide dogs, starting at 8 weeks of age, for approximately 16 months. At the end of their time with a volunteer raiser, the dogs are returned to Guiding Eyes to complete their formal training to be a guide for the blind.
The event on Sept. 28 will include a Chinese auction, money wheel, 50/50 raffles, live music and a kissing booth. The menu will include hotdogs and hamburgers, beer, cole slaw, baked beans and macaroni salad.
    Tickets cost $15.
