A 40-year-old Ellendale man was arrested Aug. 26 after he was reportedly connected to a burglary in Georgetown.
According to the Delaware State Police, detectives were investigating a burglary at a Gravel Hill Road residence when they learned Tyrone J. Morris was a possible suspect. Police said Morris was located driving a vehicle in the area of Lewes and was stopped by a trooper in the Comcast Cable parking lot. Police said Morris was in possession of two small caliber handguns, which he is prohibited from possessing. Police said he was also in possession of about .04 grams of heroin, and located in his vehicle was drug paraphernalia, jewelry, electronics and a shotgun stolen from the residence on Gravel Hill Road. A search warrant executed at Morris’ residence on Willow Street in Ellendale revealed more jewelry and electronics reportedly stolen during a burglary committed earlier that day on Johnson Road in Millsboro.
Morris faces numerous charges including three counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, two counts of second degree burglary and possession of heroin. He was committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna on $65,400 cash bond. Police said they are continuing their investigation into this and other burglaries in the area and more charges may be forthcoming.
