A new Downtown Milford, Inc. event will fill the streets of Milford with local cuisine and drinks in its first Eat in the Street event.
Eat in the Street will be held at 5 p.m. Sept. 22 with a limit of 100 participants for a three-course meal and entertainment in a dining atmosphere created right down Walnut Street.
The event’s menu has been designed by chefs and restaurant owners from Georgia House, Kevin Abbott’s Grill and Dolce Bakery. Milford’s Riverwalk Farmers Market will also supply produce needed for appetizers, entrees and desserts, with wine and beer pairings by Dogfish Head Beer and others.
The menu includes specialty dishes such as parsnip and pear bisque with brown butter, apple-cider-glazed pork loin with sweet potato puree and unique sides like Moroccan roasted cauliflower and creamed spinach.
The Dystractions will also entertain the crowds, with additional performances by other local artists.
In case of rain, the event will be held at the Milford Senior Center.
Tickets are priced at $50 per person and can be purchased at the Riverwalk Farmers Market on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Milford or at DMI’s office at 207 S. Walnut Street. Cash or a check payable to DMI will be accepted.
The Eat in the Street event committee is also still looking for flowers for the tables and volunteers for the event.
