  • The Eleanor Soltner Golf Outing held Aug. 14 surpassed its goal by raising more than $20,000 at this year’s event to benefit Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.
More than 80 golfers participated in the tournament at The Rookery North at Shawnee, with one lucky participant, Sonny Hudson of Milford, scoring a hole-in-one and new car sponsored by Price Acura. The luncheon hosted by the event also attracted 95 people, according to Delaware Hospice Center Assistant Director of Development Peggy Dolby.
This was the third year for the event, which was organized after the passing of Eleanor Soltner, who was a patient at the Milford Delaware Hospice Center.
“I wanted to do something to honor Eleanor and do something to benefit the hospice,” said Frank Soltner, Eleanor Soltner’s husband.
Including this year’s fundraising, the event has now raised more than $50,000 in general funds to support the center.
