    "Too many Americans go to too many prisons for far too long, and for no truly good law-enforcement reason." - Attorney General Eric Holder, talking today at the American Bar Association's House of Delegates in San Francisco. Holder said the Justice Department will no longer enforce minimum sentences for drug offenders who aren’t associated with gangs, cartels or other large operations.

    Former mob boss James “Whitey” Bulger was found guilty today on 31 of 32 counts against him, including involvement in 11 murders. Bulger, 83, likely will die in prison. He will be sentenced on Nov. 13.

    Hot video: Idaho man who spotted teen: 'Red flags went up'

    A weeklong search for a missing California teenager ended when FBI agents rescued the girl and shot and killed her apparent kidnapper at a campsite in Idaho. Mark John spotted the pair and says “red flags” went up.
