  • Devices used to steal credit card information found in New Castle gas pumps

  • Two skimming devices, used to record information from credit cards, were discovered in gas pumps Aug. 9 at a Hess station on N. DuPont Highway in New Castle.
    According to the Delaware State Police, inspectors from the Weights and Measures Section of the state Department of Agriculture located the devices during an inspection of the fuel pumps. The inspectors notified the DSP and troopers removed the devices.
    Police said the skimmers were entirely contained within the interior of the payment mechanism of the pumps. Police said it is not known if these two devices were successfully used to steal credit card information.
