The Delaware Order of the Eastern Star's Victory Chapter No. 15 donated handmade baby blankets and gowns to Bayhealth Medical Center.
Members of the Delaware Order of the Eastern Star's Victory Chapter No. 15 donated handmade baby blankets and gowns to Bayhealth Medical Center. The gifts were presented by Bob Peterson, Maria Peterson and Sue Kennedy to Volunteer Coordinator Sharon Conley and Senior Manager of Volunteer Services Terry Schrenker.
Throughout the last few years, Kennedy and Victory Chapter 15 have donated hundreds of baby caps and blankets to Bayhealth Medical Center. The gifts are intended for children born at Bayhealth-Kent General and Bayhealth-Milford Memorial.
Maria Peterson crocheted and knit the baby blankets from soft yarn and hand-stitched lace and ribbons onto the gowns. It took Maria Peterson two to three evenings of work to complete each piece.
"These gifts will help us swaddle every Bayhealth baby with warmth and care," Schrenker said. "We are very grateful to Victory Chapter 15 and all of those who tirelessly knit, crochet, and sew such beautiful items."
