Delaware State Police have identified the human remains found June 18 in a stream bed in Lincoln, Del., as 32-year-old Milford resident Edwin Montecinos.
Police said three juvenile boys found what appeared to be human bones as they walked along the railroad tracks near the 8200 block of Front Street in Lincoln on June 18. Police said the remains were located west of the railroad tracks in a wooded area at the north end of Front Street.
After police were notified by the mother of one of the boys, the decomposed human remains were removed from the scene and turned over to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy and were identified as Montecinos.
The time and cause of death is yet to be determined.
Delaware State Police detectives will continue their investigation to determine circumstances surrounding this incident.
