  • A 26-year-old Milford woman was arrested on May 25 for allegedly lying to police about her role in a domestic dispute in Felton.
According to the Milford Police Department, Dana E. Bennett was in the custody of the Felton Police Department at Milford Bayhealth Hospital. Police said Bennett was at the hospital for an examination following the dispute.
Police said Bennett told the MPD she was a victim of physical domestic abuse that had occurred in Milford. Police said she named a suspect. Police said an investigation revealed that no physical domestic dispute occurred in Milford. The entire dispute had reportedly occurred in Felton, and Bennett was allegedly the aggressor.
In addition to being charged by the FPD for the domestic incident, Bennett was charged by the MPD with one count of falsely reporting an incident. Police said Bennett was arraigned and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution in default of $500 secured bond, with an additional secured from the FPD’s charges.
