Harrington Police have arrested a Bridgeville woman after she allegedly tried to take merchandise from a local store without paying.

The arrest occurred May 6 at the Family Dollar store in the Liberty Plaza Shopping Center, said police department spokesman Lt. Earl Brode. Police had gone to the store to investigate a complaint about a shoplifting suspect who was being disorderly, Brode said.

Officers took the suspect, identified as Rana L. Thompson, 28, into custody without incident.

Thompson was charged with a single count of shoplifting property under $1,500, issued a criminal summons and then released.
