A 46-year-old woman is being treated at the Cozer Burn Center in Chester, Pa., following a home fire investigators say was deliberately det.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a Sunday night house fire in Greenwood.
The blaze was reported by a neighbor at 9:43 p.m. in the unit block of Gardenia Boulevard in the Blairs Pond Estates, said B. Scott Bullock, chief deputy state fire marshal.
The Houston Fire Company responded to the call amid reports someone might have been inside the home. Arriving to find smoke coming from the house, firefighters rescued a 46-year-old woman from inside. The woman was taken to Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation, and later transferred to the Chester Crozer Burn Center in Chester, Pa.
Her condition is listed as stable, Bullock said.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and placed it under control in approximately 20 minutes.
An investigation by the State Fire Marshal indicated the fire had been intentionally set, Bullock said, adding that the investigation is continuing.
Damage to the home is estimated at $25,000.
