The Delaware State Police and the American Legion of Delaware are accepting applications for the 42nd Trooper Youth Week, which runs June 24-28.
This is a week-long, live-in academy designed to give high school students who are sincerely interested in law enforcement an opportunity to experience the rigors of training that police officers receive at the DSP Academy.
The students, selected from a competitive pool, are required to participate in physical training as well as a variety of classroom instruction that includes crime scene and accident investigation. The program is facilitated by uniform troopers assigned to the DSP Academy.
High school seniors, juniors, and sophomores are encouraged to complete an application. Students can contact their DSP school resource officer, or contact Cpl. Christopher Martin at (302) 672-5459 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. All applications must be submitted to Martin no later than May 20 at the DSP Academy, located at 1441 N. Dupont Highway, Dover, Del. 19901.
