  • J. Franklin Voshell of Milford passed away on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford. He was 86.
    Mr. Voshell was born in Felton De., the only child of the late B. Elwood and Jessie (Quillen) Voshell.
    Mr. Voshell was a graduate from Caesar Rodney High school and served his country as a Sgt. in the US Army, in WWII. After being discharged from the Army he became an independent long distance produce truck driver for 24 years. After which he went to work as a receiving clerk for the DuPont Co. in Wilmington, retiring in 1991.
    He loved woodworking as a hobby and being with his family; also the many trips he and his wife took over the years to Florida, Europe, and the Caribbean.
    Mr. Voshell was a member of Oriental Lodge #27 and 32nd degree Scottish Rite – Delaware Valley.
    In addition to both parents, Mr. Voshell was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Blanche Orth Voshell in 2012.
    He is survived by his 2 stepsons; Victor P. Orth, Jr. and P. William Orth, Sr and his wife Kim; 4 grandchildren P. William Orth, Jr & wife Amy, Kris S. Orth and wife Carrie,  Kari E. Allen and husband Mike, Shawn K. Orth and wife Rachel, and 14 great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday April 26, 2013 in the Chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford where friends may call after 11am. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Sandtown. In lieu of flowers family suggests donations to Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church St., Milford, DE 19963.
