Police said a 19-year-old Greenwood man and a 17-year-old male from Milford were arrested Monday around 11:20 p.m. after they allegedly engaged in drug transactions.
Taquen Owens and the un-named juvenile are facing several drug-related charges after Delaware State Police conducted surveillance on an Oldsmobile sedan, and said they observed its occupants engaging in drug transactions. Police stopped the vehicle on Barney Jenkins Road in Woodside. Police said Owens provided a false name, but a search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a small bottle belonging to Owens. Police said the bottle contained approximately 4.5 grams of crack cocaine packaged for sale.
Police said a search of the 17-year-old revealed that he was carrying a prescription bottle containing eight assorted prescription narcotic pills.
A third passenger, the driver, was issued a traffic summons and released. Owens was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, criminal impersonation, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Owens was committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $21,500 secured bail. The 17-year-old was charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and released on $20,500 unsecured bail.
