  • In conjunction with the annual Delaware Horse Expo, Governor Jack Markell has declared April 1-7 as Horse Appreciation Days in Delaware.

  • In conjunction with the annual Delaware Horse Expo, Governor Jack Markell has declared April 1-7 as Horse Appreciation Days in Delaware.
    The proclamation was presented to the Delaware Equine Council at its scholarship dinner March 23 by Senator Gary Simpson of Milford and Representative Bobby Outten of Harrington. Capping Horse Appreciation Days is the annual Delaware Horse Expo from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 6 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 7 at the Delaware State Fairgrounds, 644 Fairground Road, Harrington.
    Admission is $7 per day; free for children 12 and under.  Events include a cowboy race, retired thoroughbred clinic, a cowboy church worship service, trick riding performances and more. For more information, visit delawarestatefair.com.
