  • A Smyrna man is facing is fifth drunk driving conviction following a traffic stop in Harrington over the weekend.
Matthew N. Fabiszak, a 42-year-old Smyrna resident, was driving on South Dupont Highway near Delaware Avenue when police stopped his vehicle about 9:45 p.m. on Saturday for a traffic violation, Harrington Police Department spokesman Lt. Earl Brode said.
Officers detected the odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle and Fabiszak failed field sobriety tests, Brode said.
Officers later learned he was wanted on warrants issued by Kent County Court of Common Pleas and Justice of the Peace Court 7.
Fabiszak is charged with fifth offense DUI, driving on a suspended license, possession of a suspended license, failure to provide insurance identification and several traffic violations.
He is being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of a $6,900 secured bond, Brode said.
