Two men are facing drug charges following a police raid at a Harrington motel on Friday.

Harrington Police Department spokesman Lt. Earl Brode said the raid at the Super 8 Motel at 17010 South Dupont Highway was the result of an undercover investigation into the sale of heroin at the motel.

Police reportedly seized 33 bags of heroin, less than a gram of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Five people were initially into custody, but police released three of them without charges, Brode said.

Tykwan A. James, a 32-year-old Houston resident, and Calvin Allen Jr., a 21-year-old Harrington resident, each are charged with maintaining a drug property, possession of a controlled substance, conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia.

James also is charged with resisting arrest, having reportedly engaged in a brief struggle with officers.

Following their arraignments, Allen was released on a $6,200 unsecured bond, while James was released on a $7,200 unsecured bond, Brode said.
