  • A 21-year-old Harrington man was caught in red handed while burglarizing a residential garage early Sunday morning, according to police.
A tipster called police about 5 a.m. to report a suspicious person with a flashlight rooting through vehicles and garages in the 500 block of Franklin Street, Harrington Police Department spokesman Lt. Earl Brode said.
Responding officers arrested Ryan P. Lefort in the garage of a nearby home in the 200 block of Hanley Street, where they also found a vehicle with its doors open and several items he was attempting to steal from cabinets in the garage, Brode said.
Lefort is charged with burglary, attempted theft and possession of burglary tools.
He is being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown in default of a $6,000 secured bond.
