The state office of volunteerism is currently seeking nominations for the Governor’s Outstanding Youth Volunteer Service Awards.
Anyone 18 and younger who volunteered during 2012 and was home schooled or enrolled in an elementary, middle or high school at the time are eligible for the awards.
A special ceremony will be held in April to honor individuals, school organizations and community groups in the areas of arts and culture, education, community service, environment, health, human needs and social justice.
The Governor’s Outstanding Volunteer Awards are sponsored by the governor’s office and coordinated by the State Office of Volunteerism and the Governor’s Commission on Community and Volunteer Service.
