  • A 42-year-old Bridgeville man is accused of driving drunk without a license and leading Harrington police on a car chase with two children in his vehicle.
Drew C. Ricketts allegedly tried to outrun police Wednesday after officers attempted to stop his vehicle for an unspecified traffic violation.
Harrington Police Department spokesman Lt. Earl K. Brode said Ricketts eventually pulled over in a business parking lot on Hanley Street.
Officers reportedly smelled alcohol on Ricketts while taking him into custody.
Two children – a 1-year-old and a 15-year-old – in the vehicle were released to the custody of an adult passenger also in Rickett’s vehicle.
Ricketts is charged with driving under the influence, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child while driving under the influence, driving on a suspended or revoked license, failure to provide proof of insurance, failure to provide proof of registration, failure to change address, failure to answer a summons and unreasonable speed.
He later was released pending a future court appearance, Brode said.
