The Milford girls' basketball team lost a close game to Smyrna Tuesday night 60-51 despite 24 points from junior Diamond Turner. The Lady Bucs played Smyrna even after one period as the 13-13 score reflected.
The second period proved to be Milford's downfall, as they were outscored 19-9.
Milford also played a strong second half, outscoring the Lady Eagles by three in the third period 14-11, and played a strong fourth quarter, but to no avail. Turner led all scorers with 28 and Myleiris Vazquez had 13 points. Milford is now 7-8 and will play Caesar Rodney Monday afternoon, February 11 at 4 p.m.
Smyrna improved to 14-1 behind Brionna Johnson's 19 points. Alexus Stroud had 12 and Taylor Price added nine points. The Eagles travel to Cape Henlopen Friday for a 7:15 start time.
