  • A 36-year-old Felton woman is facing DUI and child endangerment charges following a traffic stop in Harrington on Thursday.
Harrington Police Department spokesman Lt. Earl Brode said Helen M. Zerrad appeared to be under the influence of narcotics when officers stopped her vehicle on South Dupont Highway near the Midway Shopping Center.
Officers also found a unrestrained 13-year-old child laying on the floor in back seat of the vehicle, Brode said.
After performing field sobriety tests, Zerrad was taken to Milford Memorial Hospital for a blood test.
She is charged with driving under the influence, endangering the welfare of a child while driving under the influence, failure to provide proof of insurance, failure to obey a traffic device and failure to secure all passengers.
Zerrad later was released on a $1,701 unsecured bond.
