  • LEADelaware, a two-year agricultural and natural resource leadership training program, is seeking 15 to 20 candidates for its third class.
Participants will engage in teamwork and leadership-capacity building exercises and be provided with opportunities to practice their skills. LEADelaware classes also visit local and regional agribusinesses and meet with policy makers who affect the agriculture industry.
The program includes 10 to 12 seminars, each last one to three weekdays. In the second year of the program, classes take an eight to 14-day international trip to experience diverse agriculture practices. Prior classes have visited Chile and Peru.
Past fellows have included agricultural extension agents, high school agriculture teachers, farmers, commercial agriculture industry professionals and government officials.
The program is sponsored by the University of Delaware’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, UD Cooperative Extension and the Delaware Department of Agriculture.
The registration deadline is Feb. 15. Sessions will begin May 15 and continue through the spring of 2015.
