The Lady Senators won their second game in a row to increase their record to 5-9 on the season with a 41-38 win over the Milford Bucs on Tuesday night.

Tuesday night's match up was a revenge game for Dover, who fell to the same Milford team a little over two weeks ago in a heart breaking 1 point loss. This after a last second shot to win the game was waived off by the official who claimed the attempt came too late.

This time around the game was just as close and once again went down to the last seconds.

Both teams traded strong first half quarters on Tuesday night. First, the Senators struck for 10 in the first quarter to take a 4 point lead into the second stanza. In that quarter, the Milford Bucs would respond, scoring 12 points to and 18-14 lead into the break.

The Senators took back control of the game in the third quarter, flexing their muscle at both ends. Dover scored 13 points while allowing only 3 to the Lady Bucs to take a 27-21 into the fourth and final quarter.

In the final stanza, Milford would make a furious comeback behind strong play from Diamond Turner and Myleiris Vazquez. They helped to chip away at the Dover lead eventually getting down to 4 with under 3:00 left in the contest.

Antonia Johnson of Dover hit a huge 3-pointer to put the Lady Senators up 7 with just 2:00 left.

Milford would once again respond, after two more possessions the Lady Bucs had trimmed the Dover lead to only 1 with just seconds left. Without any timeouts left, the Lady Bucs were forced to inbounds the ball from full court. The Dover defense forced a tough pass toward half court that Milford's Diamond Taylor was unable to secure without traveling.

After forcing the turnover, the Lady Bucs had to foul, and being in the bonus it sent Johnson to the line for two huge free throws. Johnson nailed them both to secure the win for the Lady Senators.

"They wanted it, I mean they wanted it bad," said Dover Head Coach Thornton Spellman. "They know I'm from here – a Milford boy - and they walked away with a bad taste in their mouth after the last game and they didn't want to walk away with another loss. "

Dover returns to the hardwood on Friday night when they host the Smyrna Eagles.
