  • Sussex County Councilman Michael Vincent will serve a third year as council president, while Councilman Sam Wilson will continue as vice president.
Council voted Jan. 8 to maintain its officers following a swearing in ceremony for Vincent, Wilson and Councilwoman Joan Deaver of Lewes, who were all re-elected to new four-year terms in November.
The reappointments mean Vincent, who hails from Seaford, will serve a third consecutive year as council president, while Wilson, who lives in Georgetown, will serve a second consecutive year as the presiding officer in Vincent’s absence.
Council on Tuesday also re-appointed J. Everett Moore Jr. as county attorney. A Georgetown native, Moore is a partner in the law firm Moore & Rutt, which has offices in Georgetown and Milford.
Moore & Rutt also will represent the Sussex County Board of Adjustments, while the Georgetown-based law firm Griffin & Hacket will represent the county planning and zoning commission.
