  • The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control will hold three public hearings to discuss Governor Jack Markell's executive order number 36.
    The following hearings are as follows:
    6 p.m., Jan. 7, Sussex Central High School auditorium, 26026 Patriots Way, Georgetown
    6 p.m., Jan. 14, Delaware State University Bank of American building, Longwood auditorium, 1200 DuPont Highway, Dover.
    6 p.m., Jan. 22, The Carvel State office building, second floor auditorium/mezzanine level, 820 N. French St., Wilmington.
    Executive order 36 provides an opportunity for state agencies such as DNREC to review regulations on their books, and streamline or eliminate those that might be outdated, inconsistent, or no longer serve their intended purpose. Members of the public are also encouraged to submit comments to: Regulatory Comments, Office of the Secretary, 89 Kings Highway, Dover, 19901. All comments will be accepted through March 1.
