A 19-year-old man was arrested Thursday in connection with an October burglary in which he allegedly broke into a Harrington home and stole multiple firearms.
Theodore Shields of Harrington was taken into police custody at his home in the 6000 block of Milford-Harrington Highway without incident, according to Sgt. Earle Brode of the Harrington Police Department.
Shields is accused of breaking out a window at a home on Meadow Wood Lane and making off with five weapons, including shotguns and a crossbow, as well as a television.
He is charged with five counts of firearm theft, second-degree burglary, conspiracy, criminal mischief and theft under $1,500.
Shields later was released on a $12,000 unsecured bond.
In addition to arresting Shields, Harrington Police detectives also searched a home on Fairgrounds Road in an attempt to recover the stolen weapons. However, no guns were recovered, he said.
