  • Delaware Hospice, Medical Society, and Bayhealth Medical Center will sponsor a professional conference on "The Role of Advance Care Planning in providing High Quality across the Health Care Continuum on Dec. 10.
    The conference will be held from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford. The focus on this conference is the importance of the process of advance care planning, and the impact of those conversations with patients to help establish goals of care and treatment for patients with advanced illness.
    The keynote speakers include: Dr. Katherine Hinderer, assistant professor at Salisbury University; David Giansiracura, MD, medical director of the Palliative Care Program at Maine Health; and Christine Pfeifer, MS, NP-C, ACHPN, nurse practitioner in hospice and palliative care, Delaware Hospice. Registration fee is $120 for physicians; $95 for all other disciplines by Oct. 30. After Oct. 30, the registration fee is $130 for physicians; $105 for others; registration deadline is Dec. 6.
