  • A Harrington man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly wielded a knife and threatened to burn down a convenience store.
Milford police said they were called to the Mills Brothers Market at 508 S.E. Second St. about 9:52 a.m. after receiving a report of a disorderly man in the store causing a disturbance.
Thomas H. Scott, 38, was leaving the store as officers arrived and refused to comply with their verbal commands, Milford Police spokesman Detective Dwight Young said.
After subduing Scott, police reportedly found him in possession of two knives.
Officers later determined that Scott was involved in a domestic dispute with a 35-year-old woman in the store when he pulled out a knife and threatened to kill her.
Scott also threatened to “burn down the store and everyone it in,” Young said.
Scott is charged with aggravated menacing, carrying a concealed weapon, terroristic threatening, resisting arrest, harassment, offensive touching, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.
He is being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $12,500 secured bond, police said.
