Carlisle Fire Company will be collecting non-perishable food, clothing and other items for the victims of Hurricane Sandy from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
City residents are being asked to donate items such as canned food, bottled water, trash bags, paper goods, hand warmers and athletic socks. All donated items will be delivered to those in need in the New Jersey and New York area most affected by the storm.
The collection at Carlisle’s station house at 615 NW Front St. is part of the relief effort spearheaded by Delaware Firefighters Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund, a partnership between the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund and the Delaware Volunteer Firefighters Association.
