  • Mayor Pat Stombaugh has declared the town of Smyrna in a State of Emergency beginning at 6 p.m. tonight until 12 noon tomorrow.
She is asking citizens to stay off the roads unless there is an emergency. Town Hall and the library are closed.
The town of Smyrna has employees working today to keep storm drains open and be ready for expected damage.
The gate at Lake Como is open to minimize the water level but the flow is already over the spillway. Some road flooding is occurring in the usual places such as West Glenwood and Carter Road. It is expected that many more areas in town will flood as well. Areas outside of town including Route 300 on the west and Route 6 heading east are starting to be covered.
Level 2 driving restrictions are in place, only essential travel is permitted.
