Police are searching for a convicted sex offender from Ellendale who disappeared after removing his monitoring bracelet last month.
Dale O. Palmer, a 49-year-old high risk Tier 3 sex offender, reportedly removed the monitoring device before fleeing his residence in late September, just days after the state division of probation and parole last verified his residency at 20181 Reynolds Pond Road.
Warrants charging Palmer with failure to re-register as a sex offender and violating his probation were issued on Sept. 21.
According to the Delaware Sex Offender Central Registry, Palmer was convicted on a second-degree rape charge in April, 2004.
He is described as black, about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information about Palmer’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Delaware State Police Sex Offender Apprehension and Registration Unit at (302) 739-5882.
Anonymous tips also can be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333 or by texting 274637 (CRIMES) and starting you message with the keyword “DSP.”
