  • A 21-year-old Lincoln woman is facing criminal charges after allegedly assaulting a Milford police officer while attempting to avoid arrest early Thursday.
According to Milford Police Department spokesman Detective Dwight Young, a Milford police officer was called to Valley Run Apartments off of North Front Street about 3 a.m. Thursday morning for a report of a disorderly person.
There, the officer found an intoxicated Sarah Wilson yelling obscenities in the parking lot of the apartment complex and attempted to take her into custody, Young said.
Wilson reportedly refused to comply and repeatedly assaulted the officer before attempting to run away.
The officer, who was not injured, was eventually able to subdue Wilson and took her to the Milford Police Department headquarters on Northeast Front Street, where she refused to be fingerprinted, Young said.
Wilson is charged with offensive touching of a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, refusal to submit to fingerprinting and disorderly conduct.
She is being held at the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution near Wilmington on a $1,750 secured bond, Young said.
