Blanche (Orth) Voshell, of Milford, formerly of Wilmington, died peacefully at home in Milford. She was 93.
She was born Dec. 7, 1918 in Wilmington, daughter of the late Bradford B. and Frances Bigger.
She graduated from P.S. du Pont High School in Wilmington in 1936 and attended Goldey-Beacom College. She was employed at the Municipal Court in Wilmington for 22 years as a secretary, retiring in 1974.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Victor P. Orth; two sisters, Grace E. Wittland of Wilmington, and Evelyn F. Graham of Palmyra, N.J.
Blanche was an avid reader and loved good fiction books. She also loved to travel each year, having gone to Hawaii – a special place – four times, in addition to Europe, Florida, the Caribbean and the western United States.
She is survived by her dear husband, of 48 years, Frank; two sons, Victor P. Orth Jr., of Rehoboth, and P. William Orth and wife Kim, of Dover; four dearly loved grandchildren – P.William Orth, Jr. and wife Amy, of Chesapeake Va.; Kris S. Orth and wife Carrie, of Dover, Kari E. Allen and husband Mike, of San Antonio, Texas and Shawn Orth and wife Rachel, of Tulsa, Okla.; 13 great–grandchildren; and her sister, Carol Szubielski.
A funeral service was held Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Avenue U.M. Church, 20 N. Church Street, Milford. Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.
In lieu of flower, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the church.
