Jack Hanna, known internationally for his work with wild animals, will be at The Jefferson School in Georgetown Saturday, Oct. 6.
Anyone who has seen the late night talk show appearances or the Saturday morning show of Jack Hanna knows that there's no way to predict what kind of animal shenanigans will ensue when Hanna introduces wild animals to his fans.
And, next Saturday, Oct. 6, southern Delaware fans will have the opportunity to see a menagerie of wild animals when Hanna and a few four-legged friends stop by The Jefferson School in Georgetown for a fundraising show.
Here's what to know before you go:
VENUE The show will be on the campus of The Jefferson School, which sits on more than 40 acres of land, giving people an opportunity to see where the money will be going.
Head of School Connie Hendricks said that using the school as the event's location will give people an opportunity to see where the money raised will be going.
"We wanted to get more people on our campus and having Jack Hanna here will raise awareness about The Jefferson School while also helping us raise money," Hendricks said.
Jefferson is a private, non-profit secular school for students from pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade. Kids participate in a Socratic learning environment that emphasizes problem solving, critical thinking and creativity.
"We believe the ability for students to act independently and solve problems, along with strong interpersonal skills, global literacy skills, the ability to acquire information and the ability to learn new skills as strategies change are also important," Hendricks said.
TICKETS Only 500 tickets will be sold for the one-night show. However, with a limited amount of seating, there's a better chance that everyone will have a good spot.
"The show will be under a big tent and there's just not a bad seat in the house," Hendricks said.
There are three general admission ticket options: $35, $55 and $75. The $75 tickets sold out quickly but there are still plenty available at the less expensive price points.
BONUS The doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and Hanna is slated for a meet and greet with fans of all ages before and after the show. Having a pen for autographs and a camera for pictures may not be a bad idea. Also, bring some extra cash because there be food from Moe's, Kick n' Chicken, Charlie's Hot Dogs, Sweet Serenity and Grandma's Kettle Corn.
