A 22-year-old Greenwood woman was charged with theft and forgery Monday after stealing money from her Milford employer for months, according to police.
Milford Police Department spokesman Detective Dwight Young said a police investigation determined Amber Bell, an employee at EZ Loans in the 900 block of North Dupont Highway had removed an undisclosed sum of money from various bank deposits and fabricated several loan applications that were submitted to the payday loan company.
Police said the crimes were committed between January and August.
Bell is charged with two counts of identity theft, theft of $1,500 or greater and four counts of second-degree forgery.
She has been released on a $10,000 unsecured bond, Young said.
