Blanche (Orth) Voshell, age 93, of Milford, formerly of Wilmington, died peacefully at home in Milford. She was born Dec.7, 1918 in Wilmington, daughter of the late Bradford B. and Frances Bigger.
She graduated from P.S. du Pont High School in Wilmington, in 1936 and attended Goldey Beacom College. She was employed at the Municipal Court in Wilmington, for 22 years as a secretary, retiring in 1974.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Victor P. Orth; 2 sisters, Grace E. Wittland of Wilmington, and Evelyn F. Graham of Palmyra, N.J.
Blanche was an avid reader and loved good fiction books: also loved to travel each year having gone to Hawaii four times-a special place, Europe, Florida and the Caribbean and the western U.S.
She is survived by her dear husband, of 48 years: Frank; two sons, Victor P. Orth Jr., of Rehoboth and P. William Orth and wife Kim, of Dover; four dearly loved grandchildren: P.William Orth, Jr. and wife Amy, of Chesapeake Va.; Kris S. Orth and wife Carrie, of Dover, Kari E. Allen and husband Mike, of San Antonio, TX and Shawn Orth and wife Rachel, of Tulsa, Okla.; and 13 great -grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Avenue U.M. Church, 20 N. Church Street, Milford, where friends may call after 1:30pm. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.
In lieu of flower, the family request memorial contributions be made to the church.
