  • State police are asking for the public's help in identifying three men who stole purses from a car near Magnolia last month and then used the stolen credit cards in the Dover area.

  • State police are asking for the public's help in identifying three men who stole purses from a car near Magnolia last month and then used the stolen credit cards in the Dover area.
    The thieves reportedly took two purses from a 42-year-old woman's car while the vehicle was parked in her garage in the 1000 block of McGinnis Pond Road, southwest of Magnolia.
    The theft occurred sometime between 3:20 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Aug. 29, according Delaware State Police Master Cpl. Gary Fournier.
    Since then, the thieves have used the stolen credit cards at various locations throughout the Dover area, including the Wal-Mart in Camden where their images were captured on surveillance cameras, Fournier said.
    The thieves are described as white and between the ages of 18 and 25. One of the men was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and camouflage shorts. Another was wearing a white T-shirt and khaki shorts, while the third man was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with black shorts.
    Anyone with information about the theft or the identity of the thieves is asked to call Delaware State Police at (302) 741-2814 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
