Milford man charged with sexually abusing child

A 24-year-old Milford man is accused of sexually abusing a 6-year-old girl for the past year.

Milford police arrested Hakeem J. Bryant on Thursday and charged him with three counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a child, continuous sexual abuse of a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police said Bryant forced the child to perform sexual acts on him at a residence in the Valley Run Apartments on Valley Drive from August 2011 until August 2012.

Bryant is being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown in default of a $180,000 cash bond.
