  • Leonard G. “Lennie” Stokes, 55, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012, at Delaware Hospice Center Milford after a courageous battle with cancer. 
    Lennie was born in Milford to the late Leonard L. and Anna Mae (Quillen) Stokes.  Lennie worked in construction most of his life and had been employed at Poore’s Propane/Service Energy for the past 5 years.  Lennie dearly loved his children and grandchildren and was happiest when he was spending time with them.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling.  
    Lennie is survived by a daughter, Lindsey M. Stokes of Milford; sons Lennie H. Stokes of Milford, Daniel (Korie) Steele of Lincoln, Travis Steele of Milford, and Jesse Steele of Clayton; 3 grandchildren, Peyton Bright, Allexi and Brayden Steele; sister Debra Stokes; brothers Steven and Michael Stokes, and an extended family of aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  
    A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2012, at the Cedarfield Ruritan Club, 315 Tubmill Pond Rd., Milford, DE.  Casual or work attire appropriate in Lennie’s memory.  Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Delaware Hospice Center: 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or Bayhealth Cancer Centers: 21 W. Clarke Ave, Milford, DE 19963.
