Wilmington native and Charter School of Wilmington graduate Andrew Gemmell just barely missed the cut in this mornings 1500-Meter Freestyle at the Summer Olympic Games in London.

Gemmell missed the cut to compete in the Medal Round by one slot, the top 8 finishers move on.

Coming into the race Gemmell was seeded 7th out of 31 swimmers. Gemmell qualified for the U.S. team by winning the 1500m freestyle representing the Delaware Swim Team, posting the fourth-fastest time in the world this season.
