Orray Weller Corder of Milford, DE died on April 12th, 2012. He was born on July 12th, 1919 in Nokesville, VA to Maurice and Annie Rae Corder.
In March 1941, Orray was drafted into the Army and assigned to West Point. In May 1943, during his service at West Point, he met his future wife, Ida Salvesen. Upon his discharge in December of 1945, he and his wife moved to Milford, De, where they have resided ever since.
Following their move to Milford, De, he and his brothers opened Milford Supply Company in March 1946. In 1956, the brothers started building High Point Mobile Home Park in Frederica, DE.
Orray was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Ida Gail Corder, son in law, Steve Sanders, three sisters, Doris Belle Atkinson, Dare Kielbasa, Deon Harper and three brothers, Max, Jan and Bobby Corder.
He is survived by his loving, caring wife of 68 years, Ida Salvesen Corder, daughter, Nancy Gates and her husband, Gordon Gates, daughter, Bonnie Sanders, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Orray had a very strong faith in God. Next to his faith, he treasured his family and cherished his friends.
A funeral service will be held, Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, De, where friends may call from 11:00 to 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford, DE.
