  • The Lady Bucs soccer team came into Tuesday nights contest ready to face easily their most difficult opponent of this young season, the 3-0 Caesar Rodney Riders.
While the Bucs played hard the entire game, they weren’t able to overcome a tough Riders team, falling to Caesar Rodney 4-0.
Sophomore Alexis Prillaman led the way offensively for the Riders, tallying a goal and an assist in the win.  Freshman Alexa Faulmino, Senior Miranda Smith and Junior Shelby Warren also scored for CR.
    Kristiana Stevens contributed two assists.
The Milford defense and goaltender Brooke Hughes did an admirable job in the first half allowing only one Riders goal. In their first three games of the season CR has combined for an astounding 19 first-half goals.
In the second half the Riders ramped up the offensive pressure netting three more goals. The Bucs  offense was better in the second half, but they still weren’t able to sustain any pressure as the bulk of the play was in their own end or near the center circle and halfway line.
Goaltender Brooke Hughes stood out for the Bucs, keeping them within striking distance for the majority of the game. Unfortunately, Milford was out-shot 25-1 and simply weren’t able to muster an offensive attack.
