State police are investigating the death of a fourth Polytech High School student in three months.

Delaware State Police confirmed Thursday that they are investigating the death of a 16-year-old Dover girl.

Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Shavack would not say whether the girl is a student at Polytech, however Polytech Superintendent Deborah Zych posted a message on the school’s website Thursday stating that police have confirmed the death of a Polytech student.

“We have state, district and school counselors providing services to staff and students in need,” Zych said in the statement. “The entire Polytech family shares in the grief in the loss of student.”

Zych could not be reached for comment Thursday afternoon.

A parent information meeting was scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Polytech Adult Education Conference Center.

A female senior at Polytech died on Jan. 11 followed by a male student on Feb. 13 and a second male student on Feb. 15.
