Delaware Seashore State Park will be offering “Crabbing 101,” a class for prospective crabbers every Wednesday at 10 a.m. - noon from June 22–August 17. This two-hour class will cover everything you need to know to begin catching those tasty crustaceans on your own!


Delaware Seashore State Park will be offering “Crabbing 101,” a class for prospective crabbers every Wednesday at 10 a.m. - noon from June 22–August 17. This two-hour class will cover everything you need to know to begin catching those tasty crustaceans on your own!

Join parks staff as they teach different crabbing techniques, traps, bait and current regulations. The program will outline licensing and equipment requirements, participants will also be able to participate in actually crabbing using a few different techniques during the class. The fee for this program is $10 per person and includes the use of materials and bait. Space is limited so pre-registration is required; call 227-6991 to sign up. Participants must be at least 6 years old. Children under 16 must be accompanied by parent or guardian. This class will meet at the dock in front of the Indian River Marina Office.
