The Mispillion Kennel Club, a member of the American Kennel Club, will hold an open show with AKC-approved conformation judges, obedience and rallyh obedience Show 'n' Gos, a microchip clinic and an AKC good citizenship test on Saturday, June 18 at 22998 Rum Bridge Road, in Georgetown.

Dr. Jim Foor will grill his famous turkey breast, hamburgers and hot dogs, along with drinks, and there will be tents in case there's too much sun - or rain.

No AKC championship points are awarded in an open show, but judges are AKC approved and there will be new, rare breeds for people to get to see and know.

There is no admission or parking fee, but there will be moderate entry fees for each event.

The AKC companion Animal Recovery (AKC/CAR) will award a $2,00 check to Harrington's Shore K9 Search and Rescue for their work to provide vital aid in times of emergency and natural disaster.

Conformation, obedience and rally events at an open show all serve as practice runs for the "real thing." Dogs must be AKC registered or eligible for registration to enter a conformation event; purebreds and mixed-breed dogs alike are welcome in obedience, rally and the good citizen test.

Please have all dogs on leashes. For more information, visit the Mispillion Kennel Club's website or call 856-2199.
