A Bridgeville man and his wife are dead in what police believe was a murder-suicide at the hands of the husband, Delaware State Police Cpl. Bruce Harris said.

Harris said police got a call at about 4:07 p.m. from Keith E. Warrington, 47, of Bridgeville, indicating that his wife, Janice, had been shot.

Troop 5 officers drove to the Warringtons’ home but “were unsuccessful in their attempts to establish a line of communication with Janice and Keith Warrington,” Harris said. Entering through the front door, they searched the house room by room, Harris said, only to find the married couple in a bathroom, both dead of apparent gunshot wounds.

“Homicide detectives determined that Keith Warrington shot his spouse Janice Warrington with a shotgun while she was in the bathroom,” Harris said. “Keith Warrington is then believed to have turned the shotgun on himself and took his own life.”

Police are still investigating the deaths and will release more information as it becomes available, Harris said.
