A funeral service was held at Bethesda United Methodist Church, in Salisbury, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Milford.

Beatrice Pauline Quillen Jefferson, born May 19, 1917 in Showell, Md., to George Washington Quillen and Anna Savage Quillen, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010.

She attended schools in Berlin, Md. and Milford where she met her husband Ernest W. Jefferson. They were married Sept. 25, 1937 and spent 73 wonderful, loving years together in Milford, and Salisbury, Md. During WWII she wrote her husband daily for the three years he spent in the U.S. Army. She was a proud homemaker who also loved to garden. For 35 years, she was active in Bethesda United

Methodist Church, Circle Eva, AARP and Happy Timers. She also volunteered her time at Peninsula Eye Center. Throughout her life, she and her husband enjoyed traveling extensively around the United States and Canada.

Beatrice is survived, and will be sadly missed, by her husband; nephew Ronald Quillen and his wife Toni; a grand-niece Allyson; a niece Michele Quillen Johnson and her partner Carol Alamares; grand-nephews Jesse and Jordan; her special friends Jacalyn Ford, Jack and Mary Callaway; many dear cousins and friends; and a cat named Missy.  

She was preceded in death by her brother Harold T. Quillen.
