Police continue to investigate cause of accident that claims the lives of Diana Thornberg, 25, of Lincoln and Roseann Hottes, 31, of Wilmington.


Investigators ask anyone with any information about this crash or who may have witnessed it to call Sgt. Michael Whaley of the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 644-5020 ext. 117.


The Delaware State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a motor vehicle collision in which two people died that occurred early morning in Milford.

The incident happened at approximately 12:13 a.m. as Diana Thornberg, 25, of Lincoln, was driving northbound in the southbound left lane of Route 1 just south of Wilkins Road in Milford, said Cpl. Jeffrey Hale of the Delaware State Police. The front of Thornberg’s vehicle struck the front of a car driven by Roseann Hottes, 31, of Wilmington, and was traveling southbound in the left lane of Route 1, he said.

Both Hottes and Thornberg were pronounced dead at the scene and their bodies were turned over to the medical examiners office where an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death, Hale said. Route 1 was closed for about three hours for the investigation.
