The Milford High School boys' and girls' tennis teams both lost 5-0 to Indian River's squads Monday afternoon.

“I wasn’t terribly upset with how we performed, really," said girls' head coach Jason Blanshine. "IR's team is nearly all seniors - very experienced."

The boys fell in nearly straight sets, while on the girls' side, Brittany Philips and Mary McColley were able to take their opponents to third sets, but couldn't finish them off.

“Everyone who won a set improved greatly in the second set that they played," Blanshine said. “I’m sure they’ll take advantage of playing those opponents again the next time.”

The losses drop the girls' team to 1-2 in their first week of play, and the boys to 0-3.
